Airline flotation devices

In the past year, both United and Delta airlines have created new airline safety videos. They both use comedy, and show things like seatbelts and exit rows that we're all used to seeing the attendants demonstrate and point to before takeoff. In it, they also show the inflatable life vests, but don't actually inflate them. I understand not inflating it every flight for the in-person demonstration, but c'mon, just do it once in the video.

The reason this is important is the only time I've seen one inflated, it was a disaster:

I know that's a fictional comedy, but it's my only point of reference. Having looked around, it seems like it's a relatively boring affair, so why not show everyone so they can feel comfortable about it.

Update: Japan's ANA does it right and shows someone inflating the vest
